In this tutorial i will be going through simple steps on creating a Google adsense box. As a google adsense user myself, i sometimes feel as if my ads are displaced and that my users are not seeing them, well this tutorial will teach you just how to make your advertisements stand out!

It all depends on what size google ads you are displaying on your webiste, in this tutorial we will be creating a box big enough to a hold 468 x 60 banner advertisement.

Also with this tutorial we will guide you through on how to slice your adsense box, and edit it in dreamweaver MX using html. As-well as inputting your ads.

Before you start, view one of my possible outcomes below:

OK! enough talk, lets get down to business on making a classy adsense box for your advertisements.

Step1: Create a new document inside photoshop 472 pixels in width X 74 in height, the fill the blank image with a background colour of your choice "Pref your website background color".

When you have done this now select the custom shape tool, and click on the rounded rectanle tool. Create a rounded shape accross your document leaving a gap all around it. You will have something like the following below (click on the image for a larger view):

You can now add a background texture to the shape, and also some other effects, such as a gradient over-lay, although i would not reccomend a gradient over-lay as its hard to merge your advertisement's into the background. But i have used a gradient overlay just as a sample you can now see what i have below;

You can now add your text on the adsense box, i have named mine "Sponsors"

Dont forget you dont have to just listen too me! Be creative let your brain guide you in a different path and create something out of this world! Just as long as you keep a straight mind for this next step which is slicing the box;

Select the slice tool in the navigation, then create your first slice by slicing the top to the bottom of the left hand corner like this below:

Then The middle and then the right hand corner then you will have something like this below: (Please note* make sure all the slices join up together with no gaps)

I am glad you have got to this part of the tutorial, now here comes the most important step, Go to file>save for web (optimized as)> on photoshop, When you go to click on save, make sure you click on the drop down where you save it as a file name like this below:

Its important you do the above step correctly, as you when you save the file, it will just save it as an image, where-as saving as type HTML and images, Will output a html webpage with the adsense box along with the images, which then allows us to edit what we input inside the slices.

ok now open up the adsense.html file inside dreamweaver MX or any other prefered webpage editing software.

Now you need to select each sliced image, copy the path of the image, and remove the image, when you delete the image, inside the "CELL/TABLE" of the image in which you have deleted, set the background image as the path of the normal image, do this for each and you will have something like this by clicking here. The correct HTML code you have below should be this:

You can now copy and paste your google adsense code inside your new google adsense box, You dont just have to have google adsense ads, you can input friends website link's and also paid advertising links inside it.
