Hello, in this tutorial we will be remaking the top of Download.com. The finished product will look something along the lines of this..



So, let's start out with a new document.



As always, it's useful to start out with the background. For this, we will grab the Gradient tool (G on your keyboard) And then choose our foreground and background colors. (Yellow is #FFCC00, and white is #FFFFFF)



And then starting at the top, click and hold your mouse and drag it to the bottom. Giving you a nice yellow gradient.



The C|Net logo is extremely simple, allot more simple than it looks anyway. Make a new layer Layer > New > Layer and with your eliptical marquee tool selected, you can then make the fixed sizes 55px by 55px. Then, click on the canvas and fill it in any colour (we will be recolouring it anyway)



Now, let's edit that layers blending options by clicking Layer > Layer Style > Blending Options. Apply the following settings.Pay really close attention to them!















Now.. if you followed everything correctly, it should look exactally like this.



I've done a little research, and the font for that logo is Pacific Standard Bold - Which can be bought for $30. I will use a substitute font for this tutorial. Let's use Arial Narrow shall we? Set to white, at 28pt with -40 character spacing. Nice.



Again, the Download.com font needs to be purchased, so we can use Arial Black, "D" set to 35pt, and OWNLODA to 28pt.. all in black, all 75% width.



The .com needs to be in #4D4D4D, i used Century Gothic, at 26pt, and 70% wide.



For the "SAFE, TRUSTED AND SPYWARE-FREE" text, I used regular Arial, still Black.. but at size 10pt. The character spacing went upto 120, and the width up slightly to 82%
